For a long time, women’s experiences of ADHD have been overlooked. Many women grow up without a diagnosis, or with their difficulties misunderstood.
As more women receive diagnoses later in life, new conversations are beginning. Women are starting to share their stories – about the challenges they’ve faced, the coping strategies they’ve developed, and the ways they’ve managed to thrive in their careers and relationships.

But there’s still so much we don’t know. In particular, everyday experiences of motivation at work are rarely talked about. Remote working, which has become increasingly common, can bring both freedom and flexibility as well as new pressures and isolation. How women navigate this is an area that deserves attention.
This research is important because it allows women’s voices to be heard. By listening to their lived experiences, we can deepen understanding, challenge unhelpful stereotypes, and develop more effective ways of offering support in the future.
